Why I researched this massage oil

Many of the women I coach are going through a phase where their bodies feel different than they used to. They tire more quickly, become more irritable, or feel restless for no apparent reason. Relaxing becomes more difficult, and their skin can also become more sensitive or dry.

That's precisely when you want to know what you're using on your skin. Not just whether it feels good, but also whether it's putting extra strain on your body.

That's why I reviewed this massage and body oil based on ingredients, use and possible sensitivities, specifically for women in peri-menopause and menopause.

Does this oil have a negative effect on your hormones?

There are no indications for this based on the ingredients of this oil.

The base consists of plant oils such as sunflower, sesame, almond, jojoba, coconut, avocado, and hemp seed oil. These oils have been used in skincare for years and are known for their soothing and caring properties. There is no scientific evidence that these ingredients negatively impact hormone balance when applied to the skin.

This oil also contains essential oils and plant extracts, including lavender, basil, fennel, marjoram, geranium, orange, mandarin, sandalwood, and tulsi. Laboratory studies have investigated some essential oils for potential interactions with hormone receptors. However, this doesn't mean they actually affect your hormones when used on the skin as part of normal cosmetic applications.

When used as intended, externally, in normal amounts, I see no reason to assume that this oil disrupts your hormones or worsens hormonal complaints .

What this oil can do for you

While this oil doesn't change your hormones, it can certainly make a difference in how you feel in your body.

Support for relaxation

During menopause, the nervous system often reacts more sensitively to stress. You're more likely to "switch on" and find it harder to relax. Massage can help release tension in muscles and connective tissue and signal to your body that it's safe to relax.

A fixed moment of touch, for example in the evening, helps many women to end the day and go into the night more peacefully.

Support for the skin

The skin may become drier, thinner, or more sensitive during this phase. The plant oils in this massage oil provide a nourishing and soothing sensation and help make tight or dry skin feel more comfortable.

What about smell and sensitivity?

This oil contains fragrances and essential oils. For some women, it has a relaxing effect, while for others, the scent can be too intense. This sensitivity can change during menopause.

My advice is therefore always:

  • test it calmly first
  • rather use a small amount
  • listen to how your body reacts
